Digital Meets Craft

Artist Michael Eden tapped into 3-D software to enhance his eye for the dimensional before creating, by hand, the ceramic Navy Vase.



Tools of the trade: British sculptor Gareth Neal entrusted his own digital design to guide his hand at a computer-controlled saw. The result is the future-forward Oak Vase, which Neal also crafts in Walnut and Ash. 



Designer Hussein Chalayan chose video game characters to update an otherwise traditional design for his Approaching Rug, manufactured by Ruckstuhl and available in limited edition. 


Scan, etch, sculpt: Jerusalem-based designer Sharon Sides reveals her digital prowess with The Stumps collection. For the series' Lean Stool, an image of a tree's unique ring patterns was first scanned onto brass, then acid-etched to further enhance this seating's natural appeal.

Woven Baskets



In the Rwenzori mountains of southern Uganda, weavers accent their raffia baskets with the natural dyes of flowers the artisans themselves have grown. Upgrade your pen holder with their hand-woven Rwenzori Cup

It seems only appropriate that Boston designer Milicent Armstrong feature Leather-bound Kilim Coasters for her Artemis Design Co. brand.




The Zafaf Bluebird Coaster well represents Lebanese designer Peggy Raphael Dabar's distinct flair for Mediterranean decor.


Tabletop designer Kim Seybert captures casual and composed with her Raffia Confetti Coaster Set.

Blankets

With her wool Chalkney Stripe Throw, lined in linen, UK designer Laura Fletcher has created a modern version of the beloved saddle blanket. 

The iconic Thonet No. 14 chair has once again inspired, this time in the form of the Hommage 14 Blanket, by Uppercase. Cane weave, lattice, wicker - whatever you'd like to call this pattern, it is clear that it takes quite well to fine merino wool.

The illustrations of Samarra Khaja have caught the eye of clients the likes of Victoria's Secret & The New York Times. And now Khaja's Otomi-esque "Mexico Springtime" series has been woven into cotton form with this jacquard Tenango Throw, giving folk art a new resolve. 

A raised floral and leaf design gives the cotton Suzi Matelasse a relaxed quilted look. 

A cuddle-worthy Damask Patterned Throw by Kashwere, available in more than 10 colors.

A leather-bound tabletop and drawer add visual weight to the fashionably minimal bronze base of the Negresco Desk, from the Helene Aumont Collection. 

Kindel Furniture Company recalled the classic tastes of interior design pioneer Dorothy Draper to create a collection that includes this Trellis Writing Table.

Ingrid Donat's bronze busts strike a pose on this Paris designer's Femmes au Collier Desk.

Coffee Tables

Fave furniture designer Carol Egan well represents minimal modesty with her hand-carved Walnut Coffee Table, complete with Egan's signature 180-degree twist.

Since her solo exhibit at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., Brooklyn artist April Hannah has created a most exquisite sculpture in her glass-top Lotus Coffee Table, featuring interlocking floral forms cut from Nero Marquina marble.

Designer Robert Marinelli enhanced the versatility of his bronze-based Biennale Coffee Table Set with neutral tones & materials that include a near 2-inch thick cast glass.
